Kyle Vernyi

Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Systems Engineering, ‘23
Software engineering intern, NASA Glenn Research Center
Pursuing doctorate in aerospace engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Kyle almost majored in music education at UA, but the engineering progress made by SpaceX excited his interest in another field — aerospace engineering. And now he feels confident for the next step in his career at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, thanks in part to the experiential learning opportunities he gained at UA.

“The co-op program in the College of Engineering and Polymer Science really helps you understand what actual engineering looks like outside of academia. Having worked a part-time engineering job since my sophomore year has allowed me to gain knowledge about topics not covered in class.”

Most internships provide a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in something that may one day become your career. Kyle was able to take part in an internship that had him working on solutions to improve upon our missions to space. You don't find many opportunities greater than that!
