Student research presented at national GSA meeting
Graduate student Madison Wood and undergraduate students Madison Isaac and Hailey Connor presented their research at the recent national Geological Society of America meeting in Pittsburgh, PA, on Oct. 15-18, 2023.

Richard C. Lorson ’75, ’77, provided a gift to support two areas within the Geosciences Department: The Paul C. Franks Scholarship and the purchase of equipment for student use at Field Camp and for research opportunities.
Bain memorial award in geosciences
Mrs. Leslie Bain established the Dr. Roger J. Bain Memorial Award in Geosciences to honor her husband’s 30 years as a UA professor and his time as the Geosciences department chair.
Stream + Wetlands supports outdoor education program at UA
The Board of Trustees of the Stream + Wetlands Foundation has made a three-year commitment to support the environmental education program at the University of Akron Field Station at Bath Nature Preserve.
