After you apply

Application review 

After submitting your application, you’ll receive an email acknowledging that we received your application.

1. After you have submitted all the program-specific materials required, your program's Graduate Admissions Committee will review your application and make an admission decision.
2. After the academic program notifies the Office of Admissions of its admission decision, the Office of Admissions will notify the student of the final decision .
3. If you have questions about the status of your application, please contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@uakron.edu.

For international students

The immigration team at the International Center (immigration@uakron.edu) can assist with questions you have about student visas or immigration documentation.

Next steps for admitted students

1. Confirm your enrollment by completing the form in your Applicant Portal. This is a critical step on the path to course registration.
2. Your UA account and email will be created after you confirm your enrollment: Within 48 hours of confirming your offer, our campus IT team will email you information regarding your University of Akron ID and email address. The subject line for this email is Your UA Account Info is Ready. Please check all your email folders for this email.
3. New student onboarding activities: Once in your newly created UA account, click the Workday app under Quick Links to complete a checklist of onboarding activities. You will not be able to register for classes until this task has been completed.
4. Course registration: Your academic department will contact you about enrolling for the upcoming term.
