The Donald E. Miller Professional Writing Prize

This prize, for an undergraduate portfolio of business and technical writing documents, has been funded by Joseph F. Ceccio and Cathy Miller Ceccio in honor of Donald E. Miller, an Illinois businessman who valued clear, effective, and ethical communication in the workplace.

Who can enter:

University of Akron undergraduates who have completed one of the following four professional writing courses within the past year: Legal Writing, Professional Writing I, Professional Writing II, or Management Reports.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Student must submit one clean, non-returnable course portfolio for review by the committee

2. The cover letter should explain the course portfolio's contents for the committee and should include the following:

• Student's name
• Student's UA email address
• Student's phone number
• Instructor's name
• Course name and number
• Semester the course was taken at UA

Deadline: Portfolios will be accepted at the end of every eligible class so they can be considered for the next schedule award.
