Biography

I am a Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the Western Campus of Cuyahoga Community College, where I have been teaching for 25 years.  I also serve in the academic administrative role of department chair as the Program Coordinator for Humanities, Philosophy, and Religious.  I have been teaching as a part-time Senior Lecturer in Ethics at the University of Akron since 1985. I received my graduate degrees from the University of Louvain in Belgium, where I earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies.

kenzig family photoI am a native Clevelander (grew up in Fairview Park) and live in Valley View with my wife, Sue, (who is a high school chemistry teacher in Solon) and 5 kids (ages 13 to 24). I am very active in our community, where I serve as an elected school board member (for Cuyahoga Heights Schools and Cuyahoga Valley Career Center). I also served as immediate past president of the Cuyahoga Valley Regional Council of Governments. The past several years I have coached U-14 boys and girls soccer and 5th/6th grade girls basketball for our village's recreation league.  So, you can see that I am kept pretty busy between family life, community activities, and my professional career as a college teacher.
