A friendly competition that incorporates many aspects of fitness. Zip Lift is a collaboration with student Recreation and Wellness Services, Akron Barbell Club and Akron Bodybuilding Club.
American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certification Courses
Interactive preparation courses for aspiring personal trainers and group exercise instructors. The 8 week course includes bi-weekly instruction, CPR certification, access to study materials, shadowing and mock client/class opportunities, and exam fees. Courses will be offered in Spring 2018. More details coming soon.
Pink Gloves Boxing
A female-focused, high-energy boxing program that will take your workout to the next level not only physically but mentally too. Pink Gloves Boxing is different from conventional group fitness classes in that it is taught in a small group training setting so you'll get extra one-on-one time with your trainers to work on your boxing form and skills. During class you'll work through various stations such as punching bags, shadow boxing, speed/agility drills, mitt holding, and more. Pink Gloves Boxing is a fun, friendly, and encouraging environment that personally challenges you at YOUR level. You'll develop powerful boxing skills and define a healthier, more confident YOU. Classes meet two days per week at the same time with the same instructor and group throughout the entire 10 week program.

PGB Tier Up Day Fall 17
Tier Up day brings all PGB boxers together to showcase skills, encourage each other, and advance to the next tier. Tier one boxers will meet 11/18/17 from 9:30-11am in the SRWS Blue Court to earn their pink wraps. Registration is $5.00. Sign up online or in the SRWS Pro Shop by 11/10/17. Light refreshments will be provided.
A hip hop program designed for all levels to experience hip hop choreography on a weekly basis. Zip Hop's focus is to learn new routines to Top 40 Hits while building a dance community on campus. The program starts 9/7/17 and runs through 11/9/17 each Thursday in Studio B from 9-10pm. Registration is $10 for students and $20 for members. Sign up online or in the SRWS Pro Shop before 9/12/17.
A healthy lifestyle program for UA faculty, staff, and contract professionals from 9/11/17-11/10/17. Z-Fit includes 2 physical fitness assessments (pre and post), 1 30-minute personal training session, 1 exercise program design , a Healthy Lifestyle tracker and a weekly email with wellness tips. All services are scheduled at your convenience during our Wellness Suite hours within the first 2 weeks of the program. A prize will be awarded for the most improved physical fitness assessment results if the post assessment is complete before 11/10/17. Registration is $32 for members and $94 for non-members (includes 3 mos. membership). Sign up online or in the SRWS Pro Shop before 9/12/17.
