DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: APPLIED MATHEMATICS

Completion of the University’s General Education requirements and the College’s foreign language requirement (waived for double majors with primary major outside the College of Arts and Sciences).

The following required courses:
3450:221 Analytic Geometry and Calculus I (4 credits)
3450:222 Analytic Geometry and Calculus II (4 credits)
3450:223 Analytic Geometry and Calculus III (4 credits)
3450:307 Fundamentals of Advanced Mathematics (3 credits)
3450:335 Introduction to Ordinary Differential Equations (3 credits)
3450:312 Linear Algebra (3 credits)
3450:421 Advanced Calculus I (3 credits)
3450:427 Applied Numerical Methods I (3 credits)
3450:428 Applied Numerical Methods II (3 credits)
3450:436 Mathematical Models (3 credits)
3460:209 Computer Science I (4 credits)
3470:461 Applied Statistics (4 credits)

One of the following two courses:
3450:422 Advanced Calculus II (3 credits)
3450:425 Complex Variables (3 credits)

Complete 15 credit hours of approved electives at the 300/400 level.
At least 6 of these credits must be in an approved outside area, such as chemistry, physics, engineering, economics, etc. At least 3 of these credits must be in mathematics (3450). All students should consult with their advisors for the selection of appropriate electives.
