Education

The Miller Center is committed to supporting interdisciplinary and methodologically diverse humanities courses for undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Akron and in the larger Northeast Ohio community

In recent years, affiliated faculty have developed innovative (Un)Classes and study abroad programs. We're also excited about our emerging strengths in digital humanities and applied humanities.

Enriching general education courses in the humanities has been a key part of the Center's mission since its inception. Our faculty workshops have brought full and part-time faculty together to discuss new research and new approaches to material covered by their courses and how best to bring this material to today's students.

The center also offers funding for faculty research which can be applied directly to course content, thus enhancing the educational experience of every University of Akron student.
