As part of his Summer 2010 LEAP course, “Terrorism and the Global Economy”, Dr. Andrew Thomas, Assistant Professor of Marketing and International Business presented a pre-release screening of the documentary Please Remove Your Shoes on Friday, May 14, 2010.
This documentary examines the creation and management of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). It compares the period before 911 to the current situation nine years later and asks: “Are we really any better for all our money spent? Or is it safe to say that nothing has changed?”
LEAP (Leading Edge Applied Program) courses were introduced by the CBA this summer to provide students with an opportunity to learn about the latest “hot topics” in business or gain deeper understanding of a particular topic that is not fully addressed in the core part of their program. The courses also capitalize on the expertise of individual CBA faculty that may not be routinely incorporated into the courses they usually teach.
