CBA to Host Global Supply Chain Forum

On Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, the College of Business Administration, in conjunction with The J. M. Smucker Company, will host the fourth annual Global Supply Chain Forum.  The event is open all.

The supply chain is the one place in every organization where finance, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics all come together in support of serving the organization’s business strategies and objectives, but even more importantly, those of the customers.

Forum participants will hear how three very different organizations, Dell, Inc., The Timken Company and Dealer Tire, are creatively using their supply chains to drive operational decisions today while positioning their companies to achieve even greater success in the future.

Participants will also learn how they can apply supply chain innovations in their own companies to solve challenges and achieve growth.

There will also be a targeted networking session during which participants will have the opportunity to get to know others who are facing similar business challenges.

The Forum’s featured speaker will be Byron Canady, Global Operations Relationship Manager for the Healthcare & Life Sciences Division at Dell, Inc. He will share how Dell has revamped its supply chain to reinvigorate its competitive position in the global marketplace.

Canady will be joined by three other speakers.

Timothy Graham, Director, Process Industries Supply Chain at The Timken Co., one of the world's leading producers of highly engineered anti-friction bearings and related products and services across a broad industry spectrum, will discuss how Timken uses an integrated supply chain to succeed in the global marketplace.

Jill Marcotte, Partner and Chief Supply Chain Officer for Dealer Tire, the only national company exclusively dedicated to helping original equipment automobile manufacturers (OEMs) design, implement and manage profitable tire programs for their dealerships, will discuss how the company is leveraging its supply chain strategy as the company grows more than twenty times its original size.

To wrap up the event, Michael Uskert, Research Director, AMR Supply Chain Research, Gartner, Inc., will discuss how supply chain leaders drive financial value, as identified through the extensive research of AMR/Gartner.
