The George W. Daverio School of Accountancy was once again invited to participate in the annual Deloitte Tax Case Study Competition.  Deloitte only invites teams from the leading academic institutions to compete.  Last year, 70 teams from 50 schools participated.  Teams of four students have five hours to complete a case study that requires participants to analyze information on real world tax challenges, identify issues and alternative tax treatments, and develop a recommended solution that appropriately cites the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations.  In 2010, teams are competing for more than $100,000 in scholarship and institutional awards.

The 2010 competition is being held on Saturday, October 23, 2010,  and the UA teams will be competing at Deloitte’s Cleveland office.  This year, the School of Accountancy is sending both graduate and undergraduate teams to the competition.  Members of the graduate team are Lanny Berlingieri, Nicole Ford, Kristina Melomed (alternate), Jen Murphy, and Adam Vogel.  Members of the undergraduate team are Maureen Aebi, Kristian Doty, Andy Frank, and Ian MacEwen.
