Dr. Andrew Thomas, assistant professor of marketing and international business, was interviewed by Lawn & Landscape for an article about why the big customer isn’t always the best customer.
In the article, Thomas talks about the 10 percent rule which is discussed in his book, “The Distribution Trap: Keeping Your Innovations from Becoming Commodities”, the winner of the Berry-American Marketing Association Prize for the Best Book of 2010.
“No customer should be more than 10 percent of your business,” Thomas warns.
