Students who are currently enrolled in the MBA program have the option to finish with the old curriculum or convert to the new MBA program. Students who have completed all foundation level courses in the MBA, may have a shorter program if they remain in the old MBA program. You may change to the new MBA program and select a new concentration. However, changing concentrations necessarily converts you to the new Flexible MBA program.
Many courses offered under the old concentrations will no longer be available. To accommodate students, we have developed a list of courses (available below) that students may take as substitutes for the discontinued courses. If substitutes suggested on the list are not offered, students may request a relevant course by submitting a petition outlining the course's relevance to the concentration. Three of the one credit LEAP courses may be approved if relevance to the concentration can be shown-a petition is required.
Students planning to enroll in 6500:652 Managing People in Organizations or 6600:620 Strategic Marketing Management, should contact an advisor prior to enrolling.
In order to update your DARS record and keep graduation materials accurate, you will need to submit petitions for all course substitution or waiver requests. Waivers apply to foundation level courses only. Advanced courses cannot be waived but may have other courses substituted for them.
MBA students who have never enrolled in a class prior to Summer 2011 will automatically be converted to the new Flexible MBA program.
Students who wish to change to the new program should submit a program change form available online at Program Change form. (Note that you should indicate a change to the new MBA and the start term should be Fall 2011.)
