UA School of Accountancy Hosts Information Session for Accounting Majors

The faculty of the George W. Daverio School of Accountancy in the College of Business Administration is hosting an important informational meeting for accounting majors on August 22 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. Accounting faculty, UA support staff and professionals from regional CPA firms will be on hand to help arm students with the information they need to best plan for successful academic and professional careers in accounting.

Dr. Thomas Calderon, Professor of Accounting and Chair of the School of Accountancy is encouraging all students to attend. “Faculty, professionals who recruit our students, and representatives from the University’s Career Center will take time to talk to students about internship opportunities in accounting, planning a program of studies to leverage the best available opportunities, and getting ready for success on the CPA exams,” reported Dr. Calderon.

Additionally, accounting faculty member Dr. Pamela Keltyka will provide information about the scholarship award process within the School of Accountancy. The School of Accountancy, College of Business Administration, awarded over $135,000 in scholarships last year.

The program will benefit both graduate and undergraduate students whether they are new students or continuing students. Some information sessions will be tailored to the graduate and undergraduate students separately. Dinner and refreshments will be served. Handouts will be provided to students.
