Dr. Daniel Makina, Professor of International Business Finance at the University of South Africa spoke on “South Africa’s Business Environment: Opportunities and Challenges” on Thursday April 5 starting at 3:15 PM. His presentation explored South Africa’s business environment from an international perspective and in the context of the country’s admission to the club of BRICS nations. It focused on political dynamics, investment climate, business culture, and on South Africa’s inward and outward foreign direct investment.
Daniel is an accomplished academic and has published in national and international journals. His scholarly work has won recognition from international organizations such as the UNDP, UNICEF, and the ILO for which he has written policy working papers. Professor Makina is one of the privileged international scholars honored by Elsevier Publisher with an invitation to contribute to the forthcoming International Encyclopedias of Housing and Home.
