2010 Study Abroad Opportunities

The College of Business Administration is offering several study abroad trips this year to countries including China & South Korea, Greece & Italy, Ghana, and India.

The College of Business Administration encourages all its students to consider a study abroad experience. The advantages to be gained by living in another country for a summer, a semester, or even an academic year will benefit you personally and professionally as you gain a broader perspective on today's global business environment.

China and South Korea

A three week tour of China and South Korea is offered for any student from The University of Akron. Academic credit can be earned for World Civ. China 3400:385:501 or International Business Practicum 6800:494:001.

Greece and Italy

This one month trip to Greece and Italy includes time in Rome, Matera, Parta, Athens and a cruise if the Greek Islands and Turkey. 


The “Summer in Ghana Program” was created to give University of Akron students, particularly students from the Institute for Global Business of the College of Business Administration , the opportunity to travel to, and study in Ghana during the summer.


This program exposes students to the issues that affect the success of work in today’s flat world & global marketplace. India’s position as the global center for IT and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services provides a source for diverse viewpoints on these issues. The diverse culture of India will provide a unique and rich learning environment.
