Counseling Center training for mental health professionals

The Counseling Center at The University of Akron has a long history of educating mental health professionals. Since the 1960s, the center has provided training and supervision to prospective psychologists.

The training program is comprised of two major components:

• an advanced practicum program
• a pre-doctoral internship program

Both programs are coordinated by the Training Director and the Assistant Training Director in consultation with the Training Committee and the Training Progress Committee.
