What is Absence Management?
Absence Management is a robust PeopleSoft application for automating the processes for planning, tracking, and compensating time off for employees. It processes absences of all types and sends results downstream to payroll and other systems.
What is the benefit for us for using this technology?
Absence Management will give control over absence planning and compensation. The primary goals of implementing the Absence Management module are:
- Elimination of custom modifications
- Easier in-house maintenance and upgrade of absence/leave plan rules
- Ability of administrators to manage absence requests, approvals, and balances online

How will this impact me? My job?
Absence Management will affect all employees except students and graduate assistants who are not eligible for all leave types being covered. Electronic entry of leave taken will be required.
How soon will it start?
Vendor contracts, team selection, and training plans are in process at this time. An official launch date will be announced when more details have been completed.
How long will the project take?
That answer is dependent on many things, but primarily on the number and complexity of the gaps to be discovered in our current systems. We plan to do all we can to act quickly and correctly to complete the project with exceptional success.
How will it be implemented?
There will be a phased approach to the implementation across both campuses and all locations.
