Laura Silverman is Coordinator of the Accompanying Department of The School of Music at The University of Akron, a position she has held since 1989. She received both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Degrees in Piano Performance at The Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with Vitya Vronsky Babin. She also had additional studies with Paul Schenly and Grant Johanessen at CIM, and Lee Luvisi at The Aspen Music Festival.

Ms. Silverman was a prizewinner in both The Robert Casadesus International Piano Competition and the J. S. Bach International Piano Competition. She was also selected by the United States Information Agency to represent the USA as an Artistic Ambassador and toured South America and Australia.

She has accompanied concerts in Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, Reinberger Chamber Hall, Severance Hall, Blossom Music Center in addition to those abroad.

Ms. Silverman continues to be an active collaborator and versatile pianist working with distinguished soloists throughout the country.
