Truth Be Told

Our aim is to offer culturally diverse theatrical productions and build theatrical interest in students (with an emphasis on African American's) in order to promote and enhance hidden gifts and strengthen the theater department. We strive to enhance principles of education through The Arts as a tool for economic and social development. TRUTH Be Told, we give stars a place to shine!

The student organization Truth Be Told in cooperation with Ma’sue Productions will present Voices of the Victims:  A Happening on Imperial Avenue, a new play written by John Dayo Aliya, India Burton, and Yulia Gray and directed by Avery McCullough This work-in-progress performance looks at the Anthony Sowell slayings from three different perspectives: the eleven women found buried at Anthony Sowell’s residence on Imperial Avenue in Cleveland, the community surrounding the house, and Anthony Sowell himself. Through poetry, dramatic monologues based on court records and eye witness accounts, dance, and songs, the performance examines how social and economic circumstances lend a hand in creating a neighborhood’s nightmare.
