International Admissions

Attend The University of Akron

Every year, The University of Akron welcomes more than 825 international students and scholars to our campus. This year, students and scholars from 88 countries are part of the Akron family.

On these pages, you will learn about how to apply to UA. We have information here for undergraduate students, graduate students and students interested in either our English Language Institute or the School of Law. Start your journey by clicking on "How to Apply" to the left, then select the tab that applies to you.

The team in our Office of International Programs understands that international students are seeking a valuable education and a meaningful cultural experience. We are here to answer your questions and help you become acquainted with our numerous academic, cultural and social programs. We can help you find housing and adjust to American culture.

Students may pursue studies during the fall semester (beginning in late August), the spring semester (mid-January) or the summer sessions (May, June, July).

We believe you will feel right at home here!

Who should apply via these International Admissions pages?

International students who are permanent residents, in refugee status or in asylum status should apply through our admissions process for domestic students.

All other international students should use these pages — the International Admissions pages — to apply to the University.
