Biography

Dr. Gregor received her B.A. in Psychology, summa cum laude, in 2010 from the University of California, Riverside, and earned both her M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland (APA-accredited). She joined the faculty at the University of Akron in 2016, where she currently serves as Co-Director of the Counseling Psychology Doctoral Program. She teaches courses in vocational psychology, social psychology, practicum, and introductory counseling psychology, and supervises practicum students. She is a Fellow of APA Division 35 (Society of the Psychology of Women) and was the recipient of the 2025 Mentor of the Year Award for the Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences.


Her primary research program focuses on career development with a particular interest in the ways in which culture and social identities influence interests, choices, leadership, and educational and vocational outcomes. She recently concluded a multi-year longitudinal research program examining the experiences of women in STEM academic disciplines. Her secondary interests include wellbeing, resilience, and coping for individuals from marginalized groups. She is a member of the American Psychological Association’s Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology) and Division 35 (Society of the Psychology of Women). In her spare time she enjoys exercising (hiking, running, yoga), traveling, exploring new restaurants, reading trashy novels, and spending time with her loved ones.
