Dr. Delila Owens
Dr. Delila Owens is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the School Counseling program. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Michigan State University in 2002, master's degree at Central Michigan University and her undergraduate degree in social work from Ferris State University. Her primary areas of research include school counseling, multicultural counseling and urban education. She has authored or co-authored over 30 refereed journal articles and book chapters.
Dr. Owens has been extensively involved in the counseling profession. She has served as president of North Central ACES. NCACES is regional association of the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision. NCACES members represent 13 states in the Midwest, involved with the Counselors for Social Justice organization, chaired the American Counseling Association’s research and knowledge committee, served on ACA’s public knowledge and support committee, and she serves on several editorial boards.
