Dr. Delila Owens
Dr. Delila Owens is an associate professor and coordinator of School Counseling. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Michigan State University in 2002. Her primary areas of research include school counseling, multicultural counseling and urban education. She has authored or co-authored over 30 refereed journal articles and book chapters.
Dr. Owens has been actively involved in the counseling profession. She has served as president of North Central ACES. NCACES is regional association of the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision. NCACES members represent 13 states in the Midwest, chaired the American Counseling Association’s research and knowledge committee and served on ACA’s public knowledge and support committee.
Professor Owens currently serves on the editorial boards of the Career Development Quarterly, Journal of School Counseling and the Journal of Excellence in College Teaching. She is also the secretary of the Ohio School Counselor Association.
