Dr. Delila Owens
Dr. Delila Owens is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the School Counseling program. Her primary areas of research include school counseling, multicultural counseling and urban education. She has authored or co-authored over 30 refereed journal articles and book chapters.
Dr. Owens is President-Elect of the Ohio Counselors for Social Justice. She has been extensively involved in the counseling profession. She has served as president of North Central ACES. NCACES is regional association of the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision. NCACES members represent 13 states in the Midwest, ex-officio member Counselors for Social Justice, chaired the American Counseling Association’s research and knowledge committee, has served on ACA’s public knowledge and support committee and currently serves on Akron Public School’s school counselor advisory board and on several editorial boards.
She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Michigan State University in 2002, master's degree at Central Michigan University and her undergraduate degree in social work from Ferris State University.
