Bierce Library is working to reduce stress the week before finals. With late night coffee breaks, WAGTime therapy dogs, meditation lessons and more, students will be able to take a break from studying and enjoy some free and fun activities.

"The library is a center for academic success on campus. As we all know, student success includes not only academic preparation but the ability to perform at the highest level," says Joe Salem, head of Research and Learning Services at the University Libraries. "For many students, that means managing and reducing stress, so we have partnered with very talented and giving people who are donating their time to helping students succeed at the end of the semester."

In the past, University Libraries partnered with Undergraduate Student Government to provide free coffee during the week before finals, but after conducting focus groups with students last year, University Libraries has directed more enriched programming and events to students.

Kicking off the pre-finals week activities, therapy dogs will be in the Bierce Library lobby on Sunday, April 28, from 1-3 p.m.
