

The University of Akron School of Law and the Stark County Bar Association will join forces for the annual “Law, Love and Chocolate” benefit. The event will be held from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the Stark County Bar Association (101 Central Plaza, Suite #1200, Canton).
Akron, Ohio, Nov. 29, 2011 - In the spirit of Thanksgiving, members of The University of Akron School of Law faculty, administration and staff shared what aspects of the law for which they are most thankful.
The University of Akron School of Law hosted a program on the new “America Invents Act (AIA)” on Oct. 14, 2011. The Act was signed into law on Sept. 16 and contains the most extensive changes to U.S. patent law since the Act of 1836.
On Friday, Oct. 28, The University of Akron School of Law's Center for Intellectual Property and Technology hosted its Sixth Annual IP Scholars Forum. This year's topic was Patent Law Reform. Participants from throughout the United States and as far away as Australia came to Akron to discuss the changes to patent law resulting from the America Invents Act (AIA), which was signed into law on Sept. 16, 2011.
The University of Akron School of Law announces the creation of a joint Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) program in Intellectual Property.
