The Honorable Dixie Park is Jurist-in-Residence on Nov. 18

The Honorable Dixie Park will visit The University of Akron School of Law on Thursday, Nov. 18 as part of the Jurist-in-Residence program. Park will present a public lecture titled “Guardianship Law: Trends, Practices and Aspirations.”

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held Thursday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. in Room 152 at The University of Akron School of Law, 150 University Ave., Akron, Ohio. Park is the first woman elected Judge of the Probate Division, Stark County Common Pleas Court. She began her service on the Probate bench in January of 2004. Park was duly elected on Nov. 4, 2004. In 2007, Judge Park initiated the creation of the Guardian Oversight Council (GOC) consisting of members of the community from different disciplines and experience to assist and make recommendations to the Probate Court on community standards for guardianship cases.
