The Office of the University Registrar will be closed Dec. 22 - Jan. 1. All My Akron functions — including registration, viewing of grades and accessing financial information — will be available online during that period.
Students: If you worked during pay period Dec. 3-16, you may want to provide a second, self-addressed, stamped envelope for the Dec. 21 paycheck. If you have direct deposit, you can view your deposit amount online:
The Office of Student Accounts and the Office of Student Financial Aid will be closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 1.
For students who registered for spring classes, the tuition-payment deadline is Jan. 14. Additional information is here.
Students should refer to My Akron, Student Center, “Finances”; from here you can view your account, make a payment or sign up for the payment plan. Registration after Jan. 14 is due same day of registration. Students may be subject to late-payment fees and the prospect of being dropped from their classes if payment is not paid by their due date.
Students are encouraged to plan ahead and not wait until the last day to complete financial aid paperwork or to make required payments or payment arrangements. The financial aid disbursement date is scheduled for Jan. 4.
Students may move into the residence halls for spring semester beginning at noon on Friday, Jan. 11. Classes will resume Monday, Jan. 14. The first meal served at Rob’s Café will be breakfast starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14.
The Department of Residence Life and Housing will be closed Dec. 24 - Jan. 1. Should an emergency arise, call 330-972-7123 to contact the staff member on call.
Bierce Library, the Science and Technology Library (Auburn Science and Engineering Center), and Archival Services (Polsky Building) will be closed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1, the period when the University is closed.
The Recreation and Wellness Center and Ocasek Natatorium will be open through most of the winter recess, but closed Dec. 24 - 26 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The hours of operation and additional details are listed on the Rec Center website.
With the exception of the Barnes & Noble Bookstore, the Student Union will be closed Dec. 22-Jan. 1. Those who wish to visit Barnes & Noble should enter the building through the Carroll Street entrance, near the bookstore. All other entrances to the building will be locked.

The Computer Store will remain open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for Dec. 24-Jan. 1, when UA is closed.
PNC Bank will be open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for Dec. 22 through Jan. 1 when UA is closed. Beginning Jan. 2, the bank will be open 8:30a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
The Barnes & Noble in Polsky will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 20-22; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 23; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 27-30.
The building may be accessed through the High Street entrance during this time.
Beginning Jan. 4, the Barnes & Noble in Polsky will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays.
The Zip Support Center (formerly called the help desk) will be closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 1. If you have access to the Internet, you may visit our self service site, http://support.uakron.edu where there are many solutions to common problems. You may also visit the Zip Support Center and click on the "Submit an Online Request" link at the bottom. After submitting your request, you may log into FootPrints with your UAnet ID and password to check the status of inquiry. We will monitor the requests that are submitted to FootPrints.
If you do not have access to the Internet, you may leave a voice message at 330-972-6888. Employees from the support center will monitor this voice mailbox periodically during the week.
Computer Repair Services will be closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 1. If you have a computer being serviced by Computer Repair Services and it is ready for pick up, please pick it up by Friday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. Otherwise, you will not be able to pick it up until after Jan. 1.

For the remainder of this week, Hower House will be open through Friday, Dec. 21, from noon until 3:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Next week Hower House will be open December 27, 28, 29, from noon to 3:30 p.m., and December 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. As with all public tour days, the last tour begins 30 minutes before closing. The Cellar Door Store will also be open during tour times.
Hower House will be closed to the public from Dec. 31 through Jan. 6 for post-holiday cleaning and maintenance. The office will reopen Monday, Jan. 7.
Our public tour, event schedule, and Cellar Door Store schedules will resume Friday, Feb. 1 at noon.
