Payment in Full Required Before the Term Begins

Tuition and fees must be paid in full by the Monday before the first day of the academic term. We recognize that this can be challenging, especially when your courses begin on non‑standard schedules or during summer sessions with multiple sessions.

To help you manage these situations, we offer a payment plan. Due dates are below. How to enroll in a payment plan

Summer 2026

  • Registration Through: May 11, 2026
    • Payment Due Date: May 11, 2026

Fall 2026

  • Registration Through: August 17, 2026
    • Payment Due Date: August 17, 2026

Spring 2027

  • Registration Through: January 4, 2027
    • Payment Due Date: January 4, 2027

The registered student payment plan offers 2, 3, 4, month plans for the fall and spring and 2 or 3, month plans for the summer semester. There is a one-time enrollment fee of $35.

The length of the plan is determined by the enrollment date of the plan.
To qualify for the 4-month fall/spring plan or the 3-month summer plan, you would need to enroll before the first installment due date.

The payment plan is for current semesters only. For payment arrangements on prior semesters, contact the Office of Student Accounts at cashier@uakron.edu or 330-972-5100.

Fall Financial Aid Disbursement Dates:

Undergrad and Grad-August 19, 2026

Law-August 11, 2026

  • Scholarships and grants will move from Anticipated Aid and be applied as payment on your student account
  • Loans are applied to your student account provided you have:
    • Accepted the loans
    • Completed the Direct loan Master Promissory Note
    • Completed the Entrance Counseling (new loan borrowers only)
  • Qualifying students who have refundable financial aid that exceeds the amount due will be issued a refund.
  • Sign up for direct deposit to receive your refund faster.

Important: Anticipated Aid is based on full-time enrollment. This amount will be reduced at time of disbursement if enrollment falls below full time.

Delinquent Account Collections

In accordance with state law, The University of Akron is required to forward seriously delinquent accounts to the Ohio Attorney General's Office for collection.

If your account has been referred to the Attorney General, please contact their office directly to discuss payment arrangements at 888-665-5440.
