The Department offers several courses that may be used to satisfy the University's general education mathematics requirement.

3450:100 Intermediate Algebra. This course is a review of high school algebra. It does not meet the general education mathematics requirement, but serves as a prerequisite for some of the courses that do.

3450:135 Excursions in Mathematics. This course is intended for non-science majors who do not intend to take any further mathematics courses. It satisfies the general education mathematics requirement.

3450:145 College Algebra. This course is intended for science and technical majors. It satisfies the general education mathematics requirement. Some students who complete this course will not take any further mathematics courses. Other students will progress from College Algebra to 3450:149 Precalculus, 3450:208 Introduction to Discrete Mathematics, 3450:210 Calculus with Business Applications, or 3450:215 Concepts of Calculus, depending on their degree requirements.
