Jay Leno’s Tonight Show Producer to Visit School of Com, Sept 23

Have you ever wanted the inside view of late night television?  If so, please bring your questions to ask our guest.

Dave Berg, NBC-TV producer, will be visiting The University of Akron on September 23 for a presentation in Daum Theatre from 2-3pm, and then holding a press conference from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with student media.

Berg was a co-producer for Jay Leno’s Tonight Show and The Jay Leno Show for over 18 years.  He has also worked as an anchor and a writer for other programs including The O’Reilly Factor and NBC News. He has also worked for media outlets such as USA TodayThe Huffington PostReader’s DigestNational ReviewChristianity Today, and The Washington Times.  He writes speeches and jokes for various politicians and public figures, and he enjoys talking with students.

In addition to his presentations, he has recently written a book about his experience working on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show.  The book was released this summer, and is titled Behind the Curtain: An Insider’s View of Jay Leno’s Tonight Show, which will be the name of the talk that he will give at the university.

Berg earned his BA in political science from Northwestern University and an MS in journalism from Kansas State University.
