The News (Journalism) concentration is designed to provide students with critical expertise as well as practical experience. A News concentration prepares students for journalism careers in print, broadcast, and new media. Writing and other production courses in the News area include hands-on skill courses taught in laboratory settings in which students apply their journalism knowledge. Students critically analyze content and issues through lecture courses that explore journalism history and investigate contemporary media trends.
