Jada Howard, a Canton, Ohio native, graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. During her undergraduate studies, Jada conducted research on the material properties of the mouthparts of vampire moths (Calyptra thalictri), and explored the Superhydrophobicity of the Labial Sheath of the mosquito, Culex pipiens using a range of advanced techniques. She is now pursuing a PhD in Dr. Todd Blackledge's lab, where her research focuses on silk spinners, with an emphasis on understanding the properties and ecological significance of spider silk. Passionate about research, Jada aims to contribute to the broader understanding of biomaterials and their potential applications.
