Biography

Josh comes to the program from Ghana. He earned a B.A. in Integrated Arts & Industry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology located in Kumasi, Ghana. He studied indigenous Ghanaian and African arts and industry.  Josh is a trained artist with skills ranging from drawing to fashion design. He is a creative individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, he has a passion for applying innovative design techniques and best business practices to move ideas forward. While studying Arts Administration, Josh also works as a graduate assistant. As a graduate assistant, he works on social media, photography, and event management. He has also assisted professors with personal artistic projects such as local plays and dramas. When it comes to visual arts, Josh enjoys graphic design and photography. Josh has implemented his photography skills into several projects in Ghana and enjoys the dynamics good photography can add to any project.

On the administration side of the arts, Josh likes the arts for business practices. He has worked in many Non-Profit Organizations, businesses, and Foundations in Ghana using his artistic skills to improve their strategic plans.

What’s more, before moving to the United States, Josh ran his footwear company, designing and creating hand-made shoes. According to Josh, this project was exciting and his favorite design created is the “Kente and Tweed” collections. He also enjoys interacting with the business side of arts and design”. Currently, in Akron, Ohio Josh intends to learn more on arts management and initiating a career in the arts.
