Other Tips and Helpful Information
- Looking for a job? Check out our on- and off-campus job postings. You'll need to know if you're eligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS) before applying for on-campus positions. Check your financial aid award in MyAkron to see if FWS is part of your financial aid award.
- Financial aid cannot be credited to your student account until 10 days before your first day of class. For example, if your classes start on August 27th and you've completed the requirements for your subsidized and unsubsidized loans, those funds will be credited to your student account on August 17th - no earlier.
- Until that date, the loan funds will appear as "anticipated aid" when you look at the "Account Inquiry" under the Finances section of the Student Center.
- If you've accepted your loans in MyAkron but they are not appearing as anticipated aid, check your ToDo list. If you still need to complete Entrance Counseling and/or the Master Promissory Note, you'll see these two items listed there. Complete both at studentloans.gov.
