Artist Talk: "The Collector" by Logan Wood

Experience an eclectic array of findings and creations from local artist Logan Wood! Join Wood for a guided tour of his newly opened installation, The Collector. Through the imagery of horror media, hunting culture, and self-development, this installation represents an invasion of the private space of Wood’s alter ego, someone whose living environment is dominated by his collections.

This free event will include a presentation by Wood on his methods, inspirations, and experiences designing the exhibit, followed by a guided gallery tour. Limited space is available, so please RSVP for the event using the link below.


About Logan Wood

Logan Wood (b. 2000) was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. He currently lives in Akron, Ohio. He attended The Ohio University from 2018-2021 and is now completing his degree at The University of Akron. He is graduating in May of 2025 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Sculpture, and minors in both Metalsmithing and Printmaking. Wood has a passion for creating and fulfills this by using a multitude of media and processes such as copper, silicone mold making, and altering found objects. He utilizes material and concept as a vessel to explore his experiences growing up in the Midwest around hunting culture, navigating queer identity, and his lifelong interest in horror. He has won multiple scholarships from both universities he has attended. He is an active volunteer with local galleries and organizations, building his relationship with the art communities around him. Wood has previously shown his sculpture work at Avant Garden in Bounce Innovation Hub, The Cummings Center, The Emily Davis Gallery, and the Akron Art Museum in Akron.
