ABOUT UA’S RISK MANAGEMENT AND INSURANCE PROGRAM

The risk management and insurance industry is thriving in so many ways, but it seeks new talent to continue to expand. According to the Ohio Insurance Institute, a 2023 workforce study indicates that Ohio’s insurance industry faces a 10-year growth and replacement need of nearly 108,000 new workers.

To help meet this need, the College of Business at The University of Akron launched its Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program in the fall 2017 semester. The RMI program provides the opportunity for students to earn a minor or certificate at the undergraduate level and a certificate at the graduate level. These opportunities will allow students to engage in a highly rewarding career.
