The Akron Guarantee Scholarship for adult students
Adult students may be eligible for an initial scholarship award of up to $500 as they begin their academic careers at UA.
The Akron Guarantee Scholarship increases in value when you earn 30, 60 and 90 credits as long as you maintain good academic standing (2.0 GPA).
Entering domestic adult freshman who are pursuing a bachelor's degree may receive a scholarship for up to eight consecutive fall and spring semesters — OR — until a bachelor’s degree is conferred, whichever comes first.
Who is eligible?
You are eligible if you have never attended another regionally accredited higher education institution, and if you, more than five years prior to the date of application to The University of Akron, either graduated from high school, or obtained an equivalent home-schooled education, or earned a G.E.D.
Please note: Military personnel/veterans, financially independent students and those with other special circumstances may be considered as well.
You must be enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s program on our Main Campus, or be enrolled at a location charging the Main Campus rate, and continue in good academic standing.
