Lynn Rodeman Metzger Galleries

Eras by Sarah Mason is inspired by the women’s fashion industry, featuring full body works that are influenced by significant time periods in women’s fashion. Mason works to push the limits of body jewelry as she measures, cuts, and bends each link in quantities that approach the hundreds and thousands. Mimicking the textures and styles of the influential pieces, she highlights the modern process of replication and the unique feelings of specific eras. Mason seeks to further explore body adornments by making pieces that are precious and unique while pushing the boundary between everyday jewelry and extraordinary additions to the body.

About Sarah Mason Sarah Mason headshot

Sarah Mason was born in 2001 and raised in the city of Akron, Ohio. She is on par to graduate from The University of Akron with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in jewelry making and metalsmithing in the Fall of 2023. Her love for metal work stems from her creative childhood as well as her interest in creating elaborate body adornments. Growing up, she enjoyed ceramics, painting, and decorating; but when she got to college, she fell in love with the medium of metal. She works as a metal studio monitor during her free hours in the metals shop at the University and as a bench jeweler for Signet, repairing and customizing personal jewelry.
