Behavioral Science, Social Science, and Humanities Majors for the

Early Assurance Pathway

There is no specific major requirement for the Early Assurance Pathway or medical school in general. Students need a strong foundation in the natural sciences to be competitive for medical school and to prepare for the MCAT but this can be done while pursuing a variety of majors.  In addition to their premedical science coursework, students at UA can learn about social determinants of health and health behavior through relevant social science courses and can delve deeply into ethical decision-making in humanities courses. The list below contains departments and programs that can provide excellent preparation for a career in the medical field.
