Another Accolade for Ampaipitakwong


Anthony AmpaipitakwongAfter helping to lead the No. 1 ranked UA Men’s Soccer Team to a 4-0 shutout of No. 2 Tulsa last Friday, September 24, 2010, the CBA’s Anthony Ampaipitakwong has been named to the National Team of the Week by College Soccer news.

In the nationally broadcast game against the Golden Hurricane, the senior midfielder assisted a goal by Darren Mattocks and later scored the final goal of the night on a put-back from a shot on goal seconds earlier by Darlington Nagbe.

Last week, Ampaipitakwong was named Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week.   

During his UA career, Ampaipitakwong has amassed 16 goals and 22 assists in 75 games. He is a two-time NSCAA All-American, was a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy award in 2009, and is a 2010 Herman Trophy candidate.
