Requirements for Admission

The following are general requirements for admission to the Master of Arts in Arts Administration program: 

Bachelor degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Undergraduate GPA above 2.7

GRE is NOT required

Note for International Students

International students must submit TOEFL scores along with the application.

How to Apply

Step 1 - Application Process

Follow these steps. When able, it is best and easiest to "Apply Online." 

Submit an application through UA Graduate School website. To START, click the link below. It is easiest to "Apply Online." Include the application fee. When applying list your choice of degree as "Theatre Arts-Arts Administration." This will expedite the approval process. If you have questions about UA Graduate School admissions, call them directly at 330-972-7663, option 1. 

Prospective Graduate Student - UA Graduate School APPLY ONLINE 

Write and submit a 300-word statement of intent, summarizing your background and outlining your career goal(s). This can be attached to your online application or may be mailed in with the following materials in Step 2.  

Step 2 - Mail the Following

Have an official transcript from your undergraduate institution(s) sent to the UA Graduate School. 

Three (3) letters of recommendation are required. Be sure to have the email addresses for those completing your recommendation form.

If you are "Applying Online," you will be able to email the recommendation form directly to those completing the form using the feature within the online application. 

If you are NOT using the "Apply Online" tool, you will need to email UA Graduate School to request the recommendation form -

Step 3 - Interview

James Slowiak, Coordinator of Arts Administration Program, will contact applicants to schedule a finalist interview to be completed either in person or by phone.

Application Deadline

March 15

Application for admission and financial aid, including graduate assistantships, must be completed (with application fee paid) by March 15.

Applicants will be notified early spring on the status of admission. Students begin classes the fall semester.
