Operation Teach Program

Your Leadership, Your Experience, Our Classrooms!

Operation Teach is a specialized, fully funded initiative designed to help current and former military personnel and their families transition into meaningful careers as licensed K–12 educators. The University of Akron has been awarded a grant by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce as part of the Governor’s Ohio Military Veteran Educators Fellowship Pilot Program to support the initiative.

With a focus on leadership, service, and community, the program provides a streamlined pathway to earn an alternative teaching license and prepares participants to make a lasting impact in classrooms across Ohio and beyond.

Programs offered include:

Business Education, Computer Science, Health, Earth and Life Sciences, Physical Education, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Chemistry, Physics, Visual Arts, Social Studies, TESOL, World Languages, and Intervention Specialist (P–12).
