Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Foundation Scholarship UG March 31 $1000 annual, renewable for up to four years Scholarship program targeted at  students pursuing careers in the oil and natural gas industry.

Student Research/Internship/Service Opportunities

NSF-REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) UG varies - The National Science Foundation sponsors a number of research opportunities for students in all fields of science and engineering.  These are often summer research jobs at universities and institutes.  REU opportunities often include room and board and frequently a monetary stipend.  See the link for full details, because each opportunity is different.
NASA-USRP (NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program) UG varies - NASA sponsors 10-15 week research internships at locations (NASA facilities and Universities) around the country for all science and engineering disciplines including geology and geophysics
SCEC (Southern California Earthquake Center) Summer Intern Program UG December-February 8 - The Southern California Earthquake Center pairs undergraduate students with a SCEC researcher working on a project related to earthquake science.  A large range of project types are often available at locations across the country, and participants attend the annual SCEC scientific meeting in Southern California
Geological Society of America (GSA) Classified Ads Both varies - Opportunities for student internships are often advertised in the GSA Classified Ads page online, and also in the GSA publication GSA Today.  These opportunities vary from academic to industry internships.
GeoCorps America Both February 1 - GeoCorps America is a program of the Geological Society of America , in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service. The program offers paid short-term geoscience positions in some of the most beautiful natural areas in the world.
