A graduate of Indiana University, Steve Harp has MA degrees in both history and French, as well as a PhD in European history. He is a specialist in nineteenth and twentieth-century France. He has authored books on primary schooling and nationalism in Alsace-Lorraine, the Michelin tire company, nudism in modern France, and the history of rubber. His latest book, forthcoming with Cornell University Press, is entitled The Riviera, Exposed: An Ecohistory of Mass Tourism and North African Labor in Postwar France. He teaches Humanities in the World since 1300 and upper-division courses in European and world history.
