Biography

Eichler concentrates on 20th century modern European history with an emphasis on nationalism, ethnicity and cultural imperialism. Her primary research focus is the ethnic cleansing of Germans, especially in the Balkans, during the Nazi and immediate post-WWII eras. Related interests include Islam and its importance in the Balkan area. Eichler taught Humanities in the Western Tradition, World Civilizations: Middle East, and European history. In addition, she served as the Associate Director of both Humanities and World Civilizations, coordinating undergraduate advising, and functioning as a curriculum liaison with the College of Education.
