8 a.m. - Noon

Thank you to all of you who participated in Akron Law Cares. It was a great day for Akron Law!

We had 133 participants who volunteered at 11 different sites.
Of the 133 volunteers, 117 were law students, 8 were professors and administrators,
and 9 were our law school alumni. Please click here to see more photos.

Another community service event is coming in the spring semester. Check back for more details!

The Akron Law Family volunteered at some of the following sites:

  • Safe Landings Drop-in Center
  • Mobile Meals
  • Haven of Rest
  • Valor Home
  • Salvation Army
  • Summit Metroparks
  • Akron-Canton Foodbank
  • City Hope
  • One of a Kind Pets
“You and the students did a wonderful job helping us get the drop in center whipped into shape! Thank you for your time and talents!”
Hollie Ashworth, Shelter Care
“On behalf of the Mobile Meals staff, and especially our drivers who are delivering in shiny, clean vehicles today, please extend our sincere gratitude to the students who volunteered here on Saturday. We appreciate their hard work and cheerful smiles and that Mobile Meals was selected as one of the agencies for your service day on Saturday. It is important that our vehicles reflect a professional image to the community that is in line with our mission of fighting hunger and reducing isolation for our clients. Thank you to you and your students for supporting us in delivering that message.”
Cheryl M. Bunch, Mobile Meals, Inc.
“Being able to volunteer with One of a Kind Pets for Akron Law Cares was a great experience! Often times volunteering is only associated with helping people, but I was fortunate enough to view the unique side of helping animals. I feel fortunate that I was able to assist an organization that is so clearly passionate about their mission.”
Calleigh Olson, 1L
“Thank you again so much for thinking of City Hope for your volunteer day. The crew worked so hard that I almost ran out of things for them to do. They put us one step closer to getting the Grand Exchange open and we are extremely grateful. Thank you and everyone who participated.”
Gratefully,
Jeremy Lile, City Hope Akron
