What are your general co-op duties?

I assist an assigned Project Manager with a wide range of duties. Common responsibilities include leading meetings, creating bid packages, conducting site walk-downs, and participating in project reviews.

What surprises/unexpected outcomes have your experienced on co-op?

I have not directly completed engineering tasks, but I have worked closely with engineers from many disciplines, including environmental, civil, geotechnical, structural, and network. Through this experience, I have come to appreciate the versatility of an engineering degree — it’s quite freeing.

What has been the coolest part of your co-op experience?

The coolest part has been learning about the transmission and distribution side of the energy industry.

How will your co-op influence your career?

Because of my co-op, I discovered a passion I hadn’t realized before.

What have you learned as a co-op that you wouldn't have learned from your coursework?

I’ve gained industry-specific insights and developed soft skills that I wouldn’t have learned in the classroom.
