AshBelt

The University of Akron's brand new literary journal exclusively featuring the creative work of UA undergraduates. All majors are welcome to submit--the only requirement is that you are a registered UA undergraduate student.

Submissions open annually November 15 - February 15.

Be brave and e-mail us your creative work to the appropriate genre address!

Submissions Guidelines

Although e-mail submissions are preferred, you can submit physical copies to the AshBelt box at the front office of the English Department (3rd Floor, Olin Hall)

Fiction

(must be double-spaced, preferably in Times New Roman, 12-point) Submissions should not exceed 2,000 words or 8 pages. Longer pieces will be considered but the likelihood of acceptance is much lower.

Flash Fiction

(must be double-spaced, preferably in Times New Roman, 12-point) Up to 3 pieces (500 word limit each).

Creative Nonfiction

(must be double-spaced, preferably in Times New Roman, 12-point) Submissions should not exceed 2,000 words or 8 pages. Longer pieces will be considered but the likelihood of acceptance is much lower.

Poetry

(must be single-spaced, preferably in Times New Roman, 12-point) Up to 5 poems (2 pages per poem limit)
