Akron Polymer Technology Services (APTS), formerly known as the Akron Polymer Training Center and Applied Polymer Research Center, is making worldwide strides.
Recently, Dr. Jelynn Stinson, Manager of Training and Testing in the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering, collaborated and held a training seminar with Ingredion Integra, S.A. de C.V., located in Tlalnepantla, Edo. Mexico. Ingredion operates as a subsidiary of Ingredion Incorporated and is the leading company in Mexico and broader Latin America in the development of ingredients for various sectors in the industries of food, beverage, pharmaceutical, beer and others.
APTS began communicating with this company over a three month period. During this time, they were able to develop and organize a customized training session that trained nine individuals from Ingredion here at The University of Akron. Individuals who attended this session comment that it “really was excellent” and that “the course was excellent with experienced expositors, and very knowledgeable. The organization was great.” Dr. Stinson will be working with the Mexico team to assist with further training needs in the near future.
The mission of APTS is to advance all sectors of the polymer industry through the delivery of training, testing, and processing services that enrich learning and optimize industrial performance. To learn more about APTS, click here.
