"We see reflections of our physical surroundings and experience the dynamics between human culture and the natural world in artwork influenced by the land," says Charles Beneke, exhibition curator and an associate professor of art at UA.

"In this exhibition we see diverse expressions of landscape as both the natural world and a construct of our culture and the artists who draw from it," adds Beneke.

UA's art galleries, including the Emily Davis Gallery, located in Folk Hall, home of UA's Myers School of Art, 150 E. Exchange St., present challenging contemporary exhibitions and events, showcasing the most current expressions and critical thinking evolving in the visual arts today. They serve students, faculty, and the community by creating a culturally rich environment for encouragement and inspiration.

The Emily Davis Gallery is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The gallery is closed Sundays and university holidays. Call 330-972-6030 or visit for more information.
